Kanchenjunga Round Trek
Trip Overview
Another amazing and authentic trek in Nepal is the Kanchenjunga round trek. Mt.Kanchenjunga(8,586m) is the world’s third-highest mountain.
The area is full of the diverse cultures of Gurung, Rai, Limbu, and Sherpa people. These ethnic groups have a rich culture and values.
This trek provides opportunities to explore the unspoiled region of Nepal. It is also well known as the home of the Red Panda, snow leopard, and other snow animals, birds, and plants. During this trek there will be parts where the trail is very rugged or dangerous, some trails have been trekked only once by a small party, and so the trek will be tough.
Camping trek is recommended still but lodge trek can be run looking the participation. A special trekking permit is needed for this trek. To obtain permits minimum of 2 trekkers are needed.
Itinerary
Day 01: Fly from Kathamndu to Biritnagar and fly to Suketar (2300m)
Day 02: Trek to Lali Kharka (2220m)
Day 03: Lali Kharka – Keswa (1960m)
Day 04: Keswa – Mamankhe (1810m)
Day 05: Mamankhe – Yamphudin (1690m)
Day 06: Yamphudin – Omje khola (2340m)
Day 07: Omje khola – Torontan (2990m)
Day 08: Torontan – Tseram (3870m)
Day 09:Tseram – Ramche (4040m)
Day 10: Exploration day around Southern Base Camp
Day 11: Ramche – Torontan (2990m)
Day 12: Torontan – Yamphudin (1690m)
Day 13: Yamphudin – Funfune (1780m)
Day 14: Funfune – Lali Kharka (2220m)
Day 15: Lali Kharka – Dobhan (640m)
Day 16: Dobhan – Gurja (2000m)
Day 17: Gurja – Gupha Pokhari (2990m)
Day 18: Exploration day around Milke Danda(rhododendron flowers in spring)
Day 19: Gupha Pokhari – Chauki (2700m)
Day 20: Chauki – Basantapur (2200m)
Day 21: Drive to Dharan
Day 22: Transfer to Biratnagar airport to catch flight to Kathmandu
Day 23: Kathmandu free at your own
Day 24: Kathmandu sightseeing and farewell dinner
Day 25: Fly back home
